Wow. 2nd post of the day.
Okay it turns out the flag-selling wasn't cancelled after all... and I spent a jolly good few hours under the sun with Sing Rue outside Raffles City selling them.
And
WOW Singaporeans sure are so spontaneous that they just refuse to donate a cent. Woohoo. There's people wearing Armani Exchange, DKNY, Nike, Adidas and a million other branded things who refuse to even look at you. Haha. I was going, "Hi, would you like to--" And by the time I reached "donate some" they'd walked off without looking at me, and when I got to "money for the handicapped" they were a good metre away. WAH. Run until so fast man.Sure, there are the precious few who stop and give you what loose change they have, and then those who step up and give 2 dollars to you without being asked. Yes, they are the precious FEW. A million thousand thank-yous to all these people, and all the flags in the world. =D
LOL. There was a wonderfully consistent circle of radius 3m around Sing Rue and me, I swear there was. All keeping away the best they can. You could clear a crowded pathway in Orchard Road just by standing there with a donation bag. And sorry Sing Rue for making you go there by yourself!
Indeed, I used to think that The Ugly Singaporean didn't really exist, but after today, yeah it totally does. Sigh. Today was an incredibly good experience, yes.
